Flea Treatment in Rotherham
Fleas in your home
Adult fleas are between 1-3 mm long and red-brownish in colour. The adult flea lives on your dog or cat and feed on their blood. If you keep pets, no matter how careful you are, there is always the possibility that your animal will get fleas.
If your pet starts scratching more than usual, or you find bites on your body, which may itch, most probably you will have a minor infestation.

What happens when you send someone out to treat fleas in my home?
Firstly, a pest control technician will visit your home. They'll apply a layer of odourless and non-visible insecticide to your floors.
If it is left undisturbed, this insecticide will continue to work for some weeks after it has been applied. Adult fleas will be killed within a few days but the floor should not be vacuumed, swept or washed for at least three weeks after the treatment, because there will still be eggs which will continue to hatch.
As the eggs hatch and develop you might find fleas reappearing 10-14 days after the treatment. This is quite normal and, providing the insecticide stays in place, it will kill them. This is why it is important not to carry out any cleaning that may remove the insecticide.
If you have a cat or a dog, it should also be treated. If you require further information on this, please consult your local vet.
